If you can't find loads for 255 gr. KT, SWC, you need more loading manuals. Lyman shows 9 for the Colt and 8 for Rugers and they aren't scratching the surface. 8 grs. of Unique and either the 250 or 255 gr. cast bullet has been a standard for the 45 Colt since about the time Unique was introduced by Laflin & Rand in 1900.

The 255-grain hardcast load is quite powerful and can throw a bullet at 1,000 fps from a 5-inch barrel.
